Holy comeback, Batman!

"We really don't practice it but our kids made great decisions," Illini coach Bruce Weber said. "We trapped, we got a steal, we forced a jump ball and at the end we just said, 'We're going small, we're switching and we're not going to foul.' We found a way to win a game we probably shouldn't have won, to be honest. Now, I hope we'll use that for momentum and learn how to win on the road. We have 20 wins now, but that's not our goal."

Illinois' defense forced three turnovers in the final 70 seconds.

And give Meacham a lot of credit. He came alive when Illinois desperately needed a perimeter scoring option besides McCamey. His 3-pointer from the corner with just under a minute to play made it 59-56 and I swear I've never seen Trent Meacham snap off a shot more quickly. Then he made a very strong drive to the basket cut Northwestern's lead to 59-58. And then, on the defensive end, he forced Michael Thompson into a final turnover to set up McCamey's game-winner.
