Illini looking for bench mark

Illini coach Bruce Weber admits he has probably been too reluctant to trust his bench and instead he has leaned hard on an eight-man rotation.
Lately, though, Weber has talked more and more about trusting his bench players and this week he said he would like to do it if needed when Illinois takes on Western Kentucky at 8:55 p.m., Thursday in a first-round South Regional NCAA Tournament game at the Rose Garden.
