Incoming freshmen eager to make positive impact on basketball team

DJ Richardson already has his eyes on next season with the Illini, who will lose senior starting guards Chester Frazier and Trent Meacham plus wing Calvin Brock to graduation.
"The freshmen have to come in and play big roles, replacing Chester and Trent,'' Richardson said. "The Illinois coaches are already telling me to start working on my point-guard skills. They want me to help bring the ball up.
"By the way I play pass first, I have the mentality of a point guard. That would be a great opportunity for me, keeping my teammates happy and trying to be a leader of a college team.''
