Mr. Basketball of Illinois: Brandon Paul has winning edge
April 5, 2009 10:27 AM
Spring break for Brandon Paul had nothing to do with sunny beaches or an ocean-side view.
Instead, the Warren basketball star spent time at Children's Memorial Hospital as the bingo partner of a chronically ill child.
"He's 8 years old, and his nickname is 'Brick,' " Paul said about his recent visit as part of the Chicago High School Classic all-star week activities. "He was pretty funny and told a few jokes.
"It's so unfair that some of those kids are so sick. It helped me to see that I'm really blessed."
