Offense shines

"We won today,'' said Benn, referring to an offense that showed off firepower at running back and wide receiver while playing efficiently at quarterback. "The last scrimmage, we got creamed.''

The Illini first-string offense didn't lose a turnover and left first-year coordinator Mike Schultz pleased in the press box. Bouncing back from throwing four interceptions in a scrimmage Wednesday, quarterback Juice Williams completed 13-for-20 for 167 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 48 yards and one touchdown.
