Powell willing to go the distance

"It's kind of unique to have three guys from Illinois in the Final Four over here," Powell said by phone from Jerusalem.
Unfortunately for Powell, his season ended in one semifinal Tuesday with Jerusalem's 98-93 overtime loss to Maccabi Haifa. Brown's team (Maccabi Tel Aviv) beat Randle's team (Galil Gilboa) 72-70 in the other semifinal, so Brown will play for the league title today.
Powell said his first season in Israel has been "the most amazing experience of my life," partly because he's been able to combine two of his passions. The ordained minister has toured the Holy Land while playing professional basketball.
