Monday's morning practice was the first for the Illini after having most of Sunday off. Zook said he liked what he saw.
"There was good energy," Zook said. "They know this was their last two-a-day."
The players realize the importance of the remaining practices. Still, Zook reminds them.
"I was eating with some of them this morning and I said, 'In the NFL, they do it for a month,' " Zook said. "I tease the freshmen, 'You guys should be paying us to come here. Four meals a day, just about.' "
