Memories of Marshall tragedy stick with Illinois receivers coach Jim Pry

It's more than a movie or a feel-good story to Jim Pry, the Illinois receivers coach.
Marshall University. Huntington, W.Va. The fall of 1971. Devastated by a charter plane crash that killed 75 players, coaches and fans of Marshall football plus a crew of five on Nov. 14, 1970, a school and community pieced together their emotions and a team. The events inspired the movie "We are Marshall."
Pry, a junior-college transfer who had three former teammates die in the crash, was a junior reserve quarterback at Marshall in 1971.
"It's like yesterday,'' Pry said, "and the movie brought it back. You just get a flood of things if you let yourself think about it.''
