Former Illinois basketball star Dave Downey doesn't know if his school single-game scoring record of 53 points will ever be broken.
"There aren't that many points to spread around any more,'' said Downey, a Canton High School graduate.
He received the Jerry Colangelo Award, which goes to a former basketball player who succeeds later in life, Friday from Deron Williams' Point of Hope foundation. Harlem Globetrotters owner Mannie Jackson was also honored.
