Hope can drive a man insane

Let me tell you something, friend. I've noticed the balloon deflating around Illini Football Land this past week. "Martez Wilson Out For The Season" was the tipping point, and since then, it's been downhill. Basketball discussions picking up amongst my friends. Threads on Illini message boards saying "you know, Brian Kelly is upset with the facilities at Cincinnati...". Illini fans as obscure as my wife saying "that Illini doctor at work says we're 116th in defense or something like that". Everyone is primed to jump on the "Illinois football is insignificant" bandwagon. Again.

So today, I feel my job is to battle insignificance. To keep you from daydreaming about DJ Richardson instead of Terry Hawthorne.
