Illinois linebacker Martez Wilson will have surgery Monday on his injured neck. The junior will miss the remainder of the season and will have two years of eligibility left.
"It will probably be an overnight stay in the hospital," Zook said.
Zook said Wilson's rehabilitation is expected to last three to seven months.
"The prognosis, and I talked to the doctor myself, is good," Zook said. "He'll be ready to go possibly even in spring ball."
