Spinning out of control: Ailing Illini need a doctor, and quickly

The public opinion polls were already cast. Illinois fans had seen enough, booing the home team with 5 minutes 38 seconds left in the third quarter. By the time Penn State (4-1, 1-1) rolled to a 28-3 lead with 10:15 remaining, the orange-and-blue crowd turned their backs on this team and headed for the exits.

"That was one of the first times I experienced (booing)," quarterback Juice Williams said. "Other guys really didn't enjoy that too much. The fans have expectations of us. If we don't fulfill those, they get upset. It's our job to please them and live up to the expectations and come out on top."
