All tests were negative, Zook said, and medical personnel only sent Hardeman to the hospital because of his history. Hardeman had surgery to fuse vertebrae in his neck in the offseason. Doctors felt more confident in his recovery now after the big hit vs. Indiana, and Hardeman lobbied to play against Purdue.
"He's not going to play until the pain goes away," Zook said. "I don't know that's going to happen (against Purdue). I told Donsay I really didn't want him to play this week. He looked at me like I was crazy."
