Defense

The coaches have talked about using a zone the past three offseasons, as well. Think I've seen Illinois play four possessions of zone the past three seasons. Even so, I watched Illinois work on a halfcourt zone and a fullcourt zone press in practice this week. Illinois will face a bunch of zones this season, too, so they want to get acclimated to playing against one.

The big men foul too often. You're right about that. I think it's a strength thing. But I wouldn't expect a radical change in their approach to defense. This is Bruce Weber's 31th season as a college coach. His teams mainly played man-to-man defense the past 30.
