Gophers hope to build home-field advantage in new stadium

"The Metrodome wasn't a home,'' Weber said. "Last year, we played 13 away games. It wasn't a great atmosphere in there. Our students had a hard time getting there. It's a long hike to the Metrodome from campus.
"We traveled to all the great Big Ten stadiums. We've been waiting to have that type of atmosphere. I don't miss the Metrodome at all. For a quarterback, it was great. It was 70 degrees with no wind or rain. Our new stadium brings the whole college feel and atmosphere.''
