"This one hurts"

"Our guys, we've got to recover from this. It was a disappointment," coach Bruce Weber said. "It's a learning lesson. We've got some young guys that launched onto the scene and now they've hit a bit of a wall. We've got to get ready to go against (Bradley), because you know they'll be ready to play."

Except for Tisdale (18 points) and Demetri McCamey (19 points), a pair of veterans that played like it, the rest of the Illini roster wilted under the pressure of its first tight game. No other player scored more than six points. Fellow starters Mike Davis, Brandon Paul and D.J. Richardson missed 15 of 18 shot attempts and combined for only 10 points.
