Illini repel 2nd WAC attack to earn 'disappointing win'

''We tried to make a WAC sweep,'' Boise State coach Greg Graham said, ''but I didn't have the seven-point play to go to.''

A pair of three-pointers by Robert Arnold enabled the Broncos (4-3) to whittle Illinois' lead to 76-74 with a minute to play. The Illini (6-2) got a put-back from Mike Tisdale, plus 6-for-6 free-throw shooting by Demetri McCamey, Tisdale and D.J. Richardson to escape.
