Weber imploring Illini to bring sense of urgency
December 8, 2009 7:18 AM
'The cushion's gone,'' Weber said. ''That's why I was so upset on Saturday when we didn't have the intensity we needed. The good part of Brandon Paul and some of the guys is that they're laid-back and don't get too rattled by stuff. I just don't think we have much room on our resume to have any more letdowns.''
The Commodores (6-1) have beaten Arizona, Missouri and DePaul. Their loss is to Cincinnati. With a good nucleus of 6-7 swingman Jeffery Taylor, 6-11 A.J. Ogilvy and point guard Jermaine Beal -- who are averaging in double figures -- plus a hot freshman guard in John Jenkins, Vanderbilt ought to catch the Illini's attention.
