What's in a name?
Plenty, if that name belongs to Deron Williams. One of the heroes of the Illini's march to the 2005 NCAA title game - and now the face of the Utah Jazz - Williams is lending his name and financial support to the Shootout. "It's something Coach (Bruce) Weber had talked to me a little bit about," Williams said. "He thought it would help out the program by getting a lot of the top kids down there, inner-city schools down there, and playing some good games." Williams, himself a member of a program-changing recruiting class, expects Illini recruiting efforts to benefit from connecting his name to the Shootout.
