The Petrino offense at Arkansas

The thing about the Petrino offense is this: They can run the same play out of about 5 or 6 formations. The defense spends the entire game on their heels, because they have NO idea what is about to happen. They run the I, Pro Set, shotgun, 3-wide Pro set (base offense) unbalanced line.

Also, the O-linemen are not right tackle, left guard, etc. In this offense, they MUST be able to play either left or right as they flip flop them. Your LT may line up at RT and so on.

One more thing - they use the pass to set up the run. I know this is unusual, but when you get the db's and lb's going backwards, it opens up a lot of running lanes.
