An attitude issue

Moderator: Peter- Not when you run into a Western Kentucky or a Bradley or a Georgia that plays with more passion. I'm in the minority here, but I don't think it's a size issue as much as it's an attitude issue. Sometimes I evaluate teams by how many of its players I would choose in a pickup game. With last year's Illini, I'm taking Chester Frazier first. He's going to win a pickup game more often than he's going to lose.

A Big Ten assistant told me once, "Rebounding (for example) isn't about how big you are. It's about what side of the tracks you're from." Illinois has a roster of suburbanites and small-town nice guys. And that's not a bad thing. Can they develop a mean streak? It's possible, but they haven't yet, and this isn't a fiery group.
