Demetri McCamey returns to Illini's first five, scores 25 to spark win over Penn St

Returning from a two-game absence in the starting lineup, McCamey finished with a season-high 25 points plus five assists. His 3-pointer to beat the shot clock pulled the Illini within a point, 53-52, with 3:02 left came after a heady shot fake gave him space. On the ensuing possession, McCamey used a pick to free himself and drill an 18-footer from the wing for a 54-53 lead with 1:15 remaining and the shot clock evaporating.

"I got his attention and made him accountable," Illinois coach Bruce Weber said. "I don't like to play mind games, but it also gets to a point where he's got to show some determination and accountability. He's made strides. As a point guard, your job is to win games. Maybe he's taking that on and making sure we're successful."
