Illini defensive stats

Our team has obviously improved on defense from the beginning of the year. Currently, we lead the league in field goal percentage defense and are tied for first in three point percentage defense. What is interesting is that we have often heard complaints of how our interior defense is lacking at times. The stats don't bear that out.
Teams have attempted more three pointers against Illinois than against any other Big Ten team. In fact, in Big Ten play only, teams have attempted 369 three pointers against Illinois, thirty-seven more than against any other team in the league. Wisconsin, for example, has only had 163 three attempted against them in Big Ten play. If teams were attempting them more against us because of a high success rate, that would be one thing. But they are shooting them poorly against us.
