Run-first Illini QB proves elusive, but also shows off his arm in scrimmage

During the main portion of the scrimmage, Scheelhaase rushed for 59 yards -- including a 44-yard run on an option play on his first carry -- and continued to improve his passing as the offense won the day. While sophomore quarterback Jacob Charest and freshman Chandler Whitmer absorbed big hits, Scheelhaase was tough to catch.

"(Scheelhaase) can make something out of nothing. He did a better job of going through his (passing) progressions."
