Chasson Randle committed to Illinois last year

He's been highly successful at the AAU level with Illinois Wolves, in particular. But certain players seek early playing time and I don't see that happening at Illinois. On campus visits and otherwise, he's played with and against the guys committed to and playing for Illinois. He knows what they have. I think that will be a factor but who knows. Any time a top in-state player goes elsewhere, it doesn't look good. Illinois has spent a lot - and I mean, a lot - of time on Chasson Randle. Maybe too much time. So it won't be for a lack of effort on Illinois' part.

I've been told that Chasson Randle actually committed to Illinois last year. Something changed. Now it appears to be wide open, between the schools that have been loyal in recruiting the fine guard from Rock Island.
