With Moody out, Illini adjust camp plans

McClain was the man when it came to the Moody camp. He organized the popular event, which annually put the Illini at the forefront of Chicago recruiting for two days in June, since Bruce Weber was hired. He's disappointed the Moody camp is done - "We loved it," he said - but is hopeful Illinois can "simulate" it in C-U.

"I'll tell you why Moody was the most important. You got to see young kids early in their careers," McClain said. "You might go in there with your eye on this one kid, but you're going to see a freshman or a sophomore that you never knew existed. And it's so competitive when you're up there. I think a lot of them use it as a measuring stick."
