Illini offense far ahead of defense

Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Vic Koenning must be asking how his unit will stop Missouri in the season opener on Sept. 4 in St. Louis.
"The thing about tonight was we're going to have a good offense," Koenning said. "It's always good to have a good offense. I'm very disappointed. I'm not used to giving up big plays. (The Illinois defense) has a lot further (to go) than what I thought two days ago."
