First-team units hold up well

The good news is this: No injuries to talk about. And solid performances by the first-team defense and first-team offense. The scores that were allowed were given up by backup units, and I'd say there is more quality depth to be found on offense than on defense.

But after giving up some big plays a week ago, the first-team defense was on the field 41 plays and allowed a total of 59 yards. One play -- a pass from freshman lefty quarterback Miles Osei to Jack Ramsey -- covered 42 of those yards and was the only real big play the defense surrendered.
