A win that wouldn't have been there in 2009

A year ago, Illinois loses that game. I don't know how they would have done it, but they would have found a way. This year, they play with greater belief and in the fourth quarter, when Northern was putting the heat on, Illinois was smart enough to lean on Mikel Leshoure.
I also applaud Ron Zook for his decision to go for it on fourth-and-one at the Illini 46 fairly late in the fourth quarter. Sure, if they get stacked up it's a bad deal. But I thought Leshoure could get a yard, I thought hanging onto the football at a time when the Illini had only a 21-19 lead was important and I thought it sent a good message to the offense.
