That old bugaboo for Illinois - penalties - was ever present Saturday. The Illini were flagged eight times for 85 yards, including a roughing-the-passer call against Clay Nurse that negated an Ian Thomas interception. They got away with it against the Huskies, but do that next time out against Ohio State and it could get uglier than that 30-0 loss last season in Columbus, Ohio.
