Chasson Randle closes it out, will head West

While many people thought that the considerable distance from home would end up working against Stanford, in the end that was hardly the case. Randle ended up making the final decision on his own (as he said he would) but at the same time his family was 100 percent supportive.
It is no secret that another big reason why Randle has always been high on Stanford is that he is a huge fan of Cardinals head coach Johnny Dawkins. Randle enjoys a unique and special relationship with Dawkins. The biggest reason for that is because in many ways Dawkins reminds Randle of himself, both as a player and as a person. Dawkins took a hands-on approach from the moment that he started recruiting Randle and clearly let him know that he was one of Stanford's top recruiting priorities in the 2011 class.
