Brandon Paul starts

Bruce Weber made that change Saturday, plugging upstart sophomore Brandon Paul into the starting lineup prior to a 78-63 win against Western Michigan. That moved senior Bill Cole into a reserve role.
Weber said the adjustment was as much about Cole as it was about Paul. The coach said Cole had been playing "tentative," and he hoped the spark-off-the-bench role will inspire the Peorian.
"Brandon deserves to start, to be honest," Weber said. "He might deserve to play over a lot of guys on our team."
