NCAA volleyball: Illini storylines
The three-match slide -- part of a 2-5 ending to their Big Ten season -- had the Illini and their fans wondering what impact it might have on the NCAA tournament selection committee's decisions. As it turned out, not much. In what can only be viewed as a strong vote of confidence in Illinois, the committee seeded Hambly's team No. 8. Compare that to the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25, in which the Illini are No. 14 -- their first week out of the Top 10 all season.
