Illini building up credentials

Beginning with tonight's game against Oakland (7, BigTenNetwork.com), Illinois has four games left before Big Ten play begins. The last marquee game left is against Missouri in St. Louis on Dec. 22. But the Illini know they also have to take care of business against teams such as the Golden Grizzlies, the preseason favorite to win the Summit League.
"We learned a lot from last year," coach Bruce Weber said of last year's nonconference disappointments against Utah, Bradley and Georgia. "They understand they have to focus on every game. We have four nonconference games left. We have to finish on a positive note and give ourselves a chance to get a high seed."
