And I thought it'd be easy as 1-2-3...

How about the Illini making 8 of 9 3-point attempts in the first half --- yet somehow finding themselves trailing 47-32? Seven-foot-1 senior center Mike Tisdale, who had 18 3-pointers for his career, nailed 4 out of 4 as Illinois took all of those 3s in the opening 14 minutes of the half.
Why was Illinois trailing? Because it committed 9 first-half turnovers while forcing none. Because it got outscored 24-2 in the paint. And because Ohio State finally pushed out its defense and forced Illinois to wait 10 minutes before it took another 3.
When McCamey drilled a 3-pointer with 10:17 to play, the Illini were 10 of 12 on 3s. Yet they still trailed 62-53.
