Illini need help staying positive

Illinois senior forward Mike Davis wonders what might have been if he found the zone earlier in his career.
"I wish I would have done it last year, maybe even my sophomore year," Davis said. "I guess it's better late than never."
Told to leave the past in the past, Davis found the sweet spot late in his Illini career with help from Jim Fannin. The Chicago-based mental performance coach works with athletes, coaches and executives about staying positive, living in the moment and reducing the mental clutter. That kind of thinking should help Davis when the Illini host Iowa in a Big Ten game on Saturday.
