Illinois still has a home date with Indiana to fatten its wins a bit, and if the Illini can pull it together at Purdue they'd certainly be in the tournament. More likely, Bruce Weber's team goes 1-1 and ends up at .500 in the Big Ten by season's end. That would almost certainly be enough to get this team into the tournament. But that's not the type of finish Weber's talent should be proud of. Frankly, it's a bit of a surprise -- and a testament to this team's inconsistent season -- that the Illini aren't in better shape heading into the season's final week.
