Richmond sits, others fill void

"Nothing more than that," Weber said. "It's gonna stay internal and we're just gonna move forward. I was just pleased that our guys were able to respond. Guys like Crandall (Head) coming off the bench did some things that helped us."

Richmond engaged with his teammates on the bench during the game, standing and cheering at key moments and meeting Demetri McCamey at half court at halftime after the senior point guard drilled a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Illini a 46-24 advantage at the break.

"We just got to keep it together. Jereme was on the bench being a great teammate and that's our focus," senior Mike Tisdale said. "He's not a selfish person and he's gonna cheer for us no matter what. Whatever happens happens. Seniors keep it together and we'll be all right."
