I think there's a feeling that Richmond wanted to play basketball and in the NBA -- or even playing professionally in Europe -- they let you play basketball without making you attend classes. I think that appealed to him.

If that's part of the deal, he's not the first player to feel that way. When Marcus Liberty left Illinois early, part of his exit was based on the simple truth that he just didn't want to be a student.
