Interim Chancellor Bob Easter says Illinois should have no problem finding good AD

Finding a strong candidate to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Illinois athletics director Ron Guenther on Monday shouldn't be a problem, even if the hire's immediate boss isn't the boss for more than a month, said Bob Easter, the interim chancellor in charge of the search.

"You look to the quality of the institution, the value and the culture of the institution," Easter said Wednesday. "Clearly, there will be somebody that will be the boss. You have to look at other things.

"The general sense has been that's appropriate. People's response is they understand that, understand an institution like the University of Illinois will have an individual coming into this role that will be top flight as well."
