Paul Petrino interview

Scheelhaase's running will be a big key. Every time he ran for over 100 yards, we won. He needs to run for over 1000 yards this year. Should have more yards on fewer carries. He will be a better passer too, but his should make a difference with his feet.

Mikel is the big loss on offense but... "between Jason, Troy and the two freshmen we are going to be fine at RB." No mention of Golden or Days.

Difference between Ford and LeShoure is Mikel's ability to "come to balance" in the hole and change directions, vision, and cutting in the open field. Mikel's ability to change direction in the hole is why he was drafted.

LeShoure's yards will be replaced by (a) Scheelhaase; and (b) an open competition at RB between Ford, Pollard, Young and Ferguson. I was surprised by how much Petrino emphasized Nathan's running ability and his running over his passing.
