It was right to play O'Toole

There are a lot of Illinois fans questioning the decision to play freshman quarterback Reilly O'Toole and burning his redshirt in a blowout game. Here's why it makes sense. O'Toole is the second-best quarterback on the roster. He's going to play at some point this year, so regardless of playing Saturday, the decision was made that he wouldn't redshirt this year. "We've been talking a lot about it through camp and everything. He's a young man who, God forbid something happens to Nathan, we're gonna need both him and Miles (Osei)," Zook said. "They both are guys that are gonna be good players. We made the decision to go with him, and we'll end up playing him." You also don't have to deal with the questions each week of, "Will he redshirt?" or "Won't he redshirt?"
