Vic Koenning speaks on Western Michigan, life lessons, hammers, hiccups and speed traps

"They still use what I call 'The MAC Offense' - multiple tight ends. They create issues with you numbers-wise with the use of their tight ends."

"They have a good running game with their quarterback which is always difficult. They kinda got everything. It's a nightmare to prepare for..you can't prepare for everything."

"Bob [Asmussen] you need to get new shoes."

On still being haunted by the Michigan game-
"You learn lessons thru life. If you repeat history, then you'll have the same issue. If you always do what you've always done then you'll always be what you've always been. That Michigan game last year was a nightmare. For whatever reason the week leading up to that game we struggled handling anything."

"That's just human nature you don't want to repeat the same things- it's just like if you know a little town got a speed trap in it and you got a ticket driving thru that little town one time, next time you get to that little town you don't speed thru it."

"I'm not trying to make it more than what it is."

"We just gotta make sure we don't have a hiccup. We just gotta keep the hammer on [the players], keep digging in the sand so that it doesn't fill back in, we have to keep going. Have to keep pressin' and keep pressin' and keep gettin' more guys in for depth."

"Sheeoot I'm much more worried about Western Michigan then that Michigan game last year."

"Right now, we're a dog trying to find a bone. We're just scrambling."

"Don't worry, [the players] didn't get patted on the back much today or yesterday."
