5 observations from Illinois-Northwestern

1) OL play in the first half was terrible. I wasn't happy with the play calling, but nothing is going to work if you can run or pass block.
2) Special teams were poor throughout (other than Dimke who hit a key 49-yard FG).
3) We left too many guys wide open in the secondary.
4) We may have our 3rd receiver in Harris. He took a big step forward today.
5) Young is already a better power runner than Ford. He hits the pile hard and keeps those legs churning. On the late game fumble, Ford actually pulled up a bit coming into the smaller tackler. You can forgive fumbles when a guy is trying too hard, but not fumbles due in part to a lack of aggressiveness.
