Mike Thomas will look into starting an Illinois-Notre Dame football series

Thomas said he has spoken with NU athletic director Jim Phillips about playing another game at Wrigley Field -- once a ballpark renovation opens more space behind the end zones.

And given his ties to Brian Kelly -- Thomas hired him at Cincinnati, his previous employ -- Thomas said he'd like to inquire about starting a Notre Dame-Illinois football series.
