UI football can clear latest hurdles

Kevin Wilson is new to the Big Ten but, like everyone else, he perceives as obvious the critical move that turned the arrows north for Illini football.

"You go back a couple of years and you see a combination of things with Paul Petrino and Vic Koenning coming in," the Indiana football coach said. "They're two good coordinators who have great knowledge of their systems, and they have these systems in place. Defensively they give you multiple looks and pressure, and they lead the conference in sacks.

"Offensively, Nathan Scheelhaase makes them go by distributing the ball and running the option. They've been well tested, and they have some good, tough wins."
