Volleyball is king of queens

Plan to arrive early at Huff on Wednesday night. We have a monster on our hands.
With the Huff crowd topping 4,000 for the Oct. 1 volleyball date with then-unbeaten Purdue, several hundred fans were turned away. And now, having shattered Penn State's 68-match home Big Ten win streak Saturday, the demand to see No. 1 Illinois against Michigan is off the charts.
Which raises the question: With volleyball so consistently attractive, and with women's basketball stuck in the mud, should new athletic director Mike Thomas consider a change in emphasis?
