Weber: Wanted to play Richmond in Cancun first so they'd have experience going against Princeton-style offense, be prepared for NW
Weber: Meyers' struggles partly due to Purdue's D, Meyers letting the D get to his head and guards missing him in the post
Weber: "The one thing we have to do a better job of is shortening our passes" - teams are picking off the cross-court passes
Weber: Sam Maniscalco "day-to-day." Has been limited in practice lately
Weber: "You hope (Maniscalco) doesn't have to sit out. He will gut it out if he can" but ankle might not allow him to go.
Weber: The last five or seven years, NW has been very competitive in the league..."They're a definite tough opponent to deal with."

Bruce Weber said Illinois wanted to play Richmond early in season because system is similar to Northwestern, where Illini play Wednesday.
Sam Maniscalco didn't practice Monday and is day to day for the #Illini.
