Is Illinois junior guard Brandon Paul one of the five best defenders in the Big Ten Conference?
"Definitely," Paul said, without hesitation, in between workouts Friday at the Ubben Basketball Complex.
It's impossible to argue the point, even though Paul is known more for his scoring. His 43 points against Ohio State carried Illinois to its marquee win of the season, but Paul's defense, perhaps under the radar, is just as valuable.
