John Groce will probably be the next Illinois basketball coach

I'm told Brad Stevens' coaching friends advised him against the Illinois job -- basically said, "That's not the job for you."

The sad part: no matter how the Illini coaching search turns out it has officially become a joke--not slighting the remaining candidates.
For the record, I believe John Groce would do an outstanding job if named the new HC at Illinois. And yes, he'd DEFINITELY recruit Chicago.
